Charities We Support
St Mark’s follows the biblical practice of tithing: for every £100 given to the Church, we give away £10 to a variety of charities. These are nominated by members of the congregation and elected by our Church Committee.
They are a mixture of local, national and international charities.
We are currently supporting:
Pearls of Africa Special Needs Centre
Our link diocese of Bergen in Norway
Our link diocese of Matabeleland in Zimbabwe
Our link diocese of Jerusalem
Inclusive Church
Food Bank
We support the
Dons Local Action Group
and Food Bank and local people who are in need. A wicker basket is located at the back of church in the Narthex where donations of food can be put.
As well as financial giving, we also pray for these charities within our services and members of our congregation act as volunteers.
