Yesterday the children all joined together to enjoy some time in our beautiful garden. They did a nature walk and made a wonderful montage (shown below). St Mark's Wimbledon provides a wide range of activities for children, all co-ordinated by our full-time Youth & Children's Worker, Bethan Jenkins. You can find out more about the groups here.

Work has been completed this week to plant some new shrubs in the bed at the front of the church following the removal of the tree that was blown down in the strong gales a few weeks back. Many thanks to Mary, Gary, Catherine and Wendy who helped with this task. A photo of the revitalised bed is shown below, along with roses in bloom in our memorial garden.

It is always special to celebrate happy occasions at church such as weddings and baptisms. It is especially nice when members of our own congregation are involved.

Congratulations to Scarlett Shrimplin on her baptism and also to Sandy & Tony on their recent marriage. A picture of the wedding flowers is shown below.

Today sees the start of Christian Aid Week, and to get the fundraising activites off to a fine start, St Mark's hosted an evening of 'Words and Music' yesterday evening. Organised by Jane Lewis and a band of merry helpers, we enjoyed a fine evening of poetry, sketches and singing from the St Mark's and URC Choirs. Final numbers to be confirmed, but the total amount raised looks to exceed £700 (including Gift Aid). Many thanks to all the performers and supporters.
